Operation Broken Wing

Mission 5 of Operation Taki-Freedom Campagian

The Takistan Army had been massing T-72 tanks to the west of our position at Rasman Airfield. A large scale armoured attack was imminent but we had little in the way to repel the attack. However several days earlier a A-10 made a emegency landing at our airfield, if only we could get her operational again would we stand a chance against the offensive. We discovered we could obtain the various components from locations near our position. We when out and collected the components with stiff opposition from our OPFor friends. As soon as we have recover the components the A-10 became operational. As this happened tanks came rolling in from the west but our A-10 was airbourne! Radar alerted us that a inbound L39 was coming in fast but it was no match for our A-10 pilot. It  did however make a rocket run on our ground forces before being shot down. The A-10 then started engaging T-72s while on the ground we locked laser designators on to targets to guide the GBU in off the A-10. The result was awesome leaving the Takistan Assault force reeling. However they did get with in meters of our perimeter and if they had breached it they would have won!

The VMA server is proving a popular server for Operation Arrowhead. Its great reputation for stability and quality players playing on it preceding it. Its been less than 2 weeks since our server change and we're already beack near our old rank! Our new server also has some formidable specs. All this will see her become one of the flagship servers of the community.

Daliy news will now appear on the AusArma site. I am the news editor there and can not update two sites. The news will differ to what you see on Armaholic as I only post relevant stuff to Australasia.

It also centralises the community to focus on one site for common Arma related information. The Aus Arma site has developed nicely lately and is ready to support the community some more. I'm glad

to say VMA have been behind it from the start and helped get it to where it is today!

British Troops DLC announced

Arma 2: British Armed Forces will be deployed exclusively for PC on 26th August 2010. It will be available for GBP 7.99/EUR 8.99/USD 9.99

Arma 2: British Armed Forces key features:

* New vehicles and weapons
o Modern British troops in multi-terrain, desert and woodland camouflage
o Personal weapons: L85A2 and L86A2 rifles, L110A1 machine gun, LRR and AW50 sniper rifles, N-LAW AT launcher
o New vehicles: Jackal 2 MWMIK all-terrain vehicle, modernized FV510 Warrior
o New helicopters: AH11 Wildcat (multi-role), HC3 Merlin (transport)
o British versions: off-road car, Chinook HC2 transport helicopter, Apache AH1 gunship
o Desert and woodland paint schemes of the ground vehicles
* New single player campaign
o Player will command a mobile observation team of British troops into battle with Takistani insurgents. Short campaign will focus on depicting asymmetrical warfare with a guerilla force and counterinsurgency operations.
* Multiplayer modes
o Cooperative scenarios featuring the British units, vehicles and equipment.
* Engine Improvements
o Extension of the Engineer's role
o Ability for players to effectively operate and command artillery and mortar units
