This was a serious US Navy concept at one stage, intended to replace the C-2 Greyhound for Carrier-Onboard-Delivery.







Shuttle Enterprise on its way out to the launch pad at Vandenberg. This chasm was carved out for the sole purpose of facilitating its transportation, but no Shuttles ever launched from the site.
